The assisted living facility must meet the ventilation requirements of the mechanical code as adopted and amended by the Washington state building council; and

1. (1) Ventilate rooms to:

   1. (a) Prevent excessive odors or moisture; and
   2. (b) Remove smoke.
2. (2) If provided, locate outdoor smoking areas in accordance with Washington state law;
3. (3) Provide intact sixteen mesh screens on operable windows and openings used for ventilation; and
4. (4) Ensure window screens that may restrict or hinder escape or rescue through emergency exit openings, do not present an obstacle to facility emergency plans as coordinated with local fire and rescue services.
