1. (1) The service provider must protect each client's right to be free from mechanical and chemical restraints and involuntary seclusion.
2. (2) The service provider must use the least restrictive alternatives needed to protect the client, others, or property.
3. (3) If needed, mechanical restraints may only be used for needed medical or dental treatment and only under the direction of a licensed physician or dentist.
4. (4) Restraints used as allowed by subsection (3) of this section must be justified and documented in the client's record.
