A higher education employee who works less than that required for a full-time employee. A part-time higher education employee may be considered one of the following:

1. (1) Scheduled: An employee who is assigned a schedule with a fixed number of working hours in a workweek that is less than full-time equivalent.
2. (2) Nonscheduled: An employee who is not assigned a fixed schedule or amount of working time in a workweek.
