1. (1) Instructor-trainees shall be supervised at all times by a licensed instructor. The licensed instructor shall be physically present where the instructor-trainee is working and be available for consultation with the instructor-trainee. The instructor-trainee may not act as a substitute for the licensed instructor.
2. (2) Instructor-trainees shall hold a current Washington state cosmetology, hair design, barber, manicurist, esthetician, or master esthetician license in good standing prior to enrolling in an instructor-trainee program. A copy of the instructor-trainee's valid Washington state operator license shall be kept in the student's file.
