1. (1) The board may waive the professional development requirement under the following circumstances. The waiver would only be in effect for the current renewal period. If your professional development is audited, the board will require documentation of:

   1. (a) Physical disability, prolonged illness, or other extenuating circumstances that pose a personal hardship, as determined by the board.
   2. (b) Active military duty for at least one hundred twenty days.
2. (2) You are exempted from the professional development requirements if you withdraw from active practice and place your license in inactive or retired status.
