1. (1) The person or firm installing, relocating, or altering a conveyance shall notify the department in writing, at least seven days before requesting any inspection of the work, and shall subject the new, moved, or altered portions of the conveyance to the acceptance tests.

   1. (a) If the scheduled acceptance inspection is not ready, the contractor must cancel the inspection in writing the preceding business day with the scheduled inspector, or a reinspection fee may be charged.
   2. (b) If the inspector is not able to make the scheduled inspection, they must communicate with the elevator contractor in writing the preceding business day.
2. (2) The department may grant exceptions to this notice requirement.
