- (1) It is unlawful for any person, firm, partnership, corporation, or other entity to advertise, offer to do work, submit a bid, engage in, conduct, or carry on the business of installing, repairing or maintaining conveyances without having a current and valid elevator contractor or mechanic license, issued by the department in accordance with this chapter.
- (2) Any person, firm, or company wishing to engage in the business of conveyance work regulated under chapter 70.87 RCW and this chapter shall be a licensed elevator contractor.
- (3) Any person wishing to perform conveyance work regulated under chapter 70.87 RCW and this chapter shall be a licensed elevator mechanic employed by a licensed elevator contractor except as allowed in RCW 70.87.270 and WAC 296-96-00902.
