Self-rescue devices and their use must conform to the following provisions:

1. (1) Self-rescue devices are not to be used as a fall protection system.
2. (2) Self-rescue devices must be used according to the manufacturer's instructions.
3. (3) The use of self-rescue devices must be addressed in the fall protection work plan.
