1. (1) You must make sure each end of a platform:

   1. (a) Is cleated or restrained by hooks or equivalent means; or
   2. (b) Extends over the centerline of its support at least six inches (15 cm).

2. (2) You must make sure the cantilevered portion of a platform meets at least one of the following:

   1. (a) Is designed and installed to support employees or material without tipping;
   2. (b) Has guardrails which block employee access to the cantilevered end;

   3. (c) Extends over its support not more than:

      1. (i) Twelve inches (30 cm) if the platform length is ten feet or less; or

      2. (ii) Eighteen inches (46 cm) if the platform length is greater than ten feet.

         Note:

         The cantilevered portion of a platform is the portion that is not supported on one end.
