1. (1) You must make sure repairs to elevating work platforms are:

   1. (a) Made by a qualified person; and
   2. (b) Done according to the manufacturer's recommendations.

2. (2) You must make sure the elevating work platform, before beginning adjustments or repairs, meets all of the following requirements that apply:

   1. (a) All controls in the "off" position;
   2. (b) All operating features secured from inadvertent motion by brakes, blocks, or other means;
   3. (c) Powerplant stopped;
   4. (d) Means of starting is rendered inoperative;

   5. (e) Platform either:

      1. (i) Lowered to the full down position, if possible; or
      2. (ii) Blocked or cribbed to prevent dropping.
   6. (f) Hydraulic pressure relieved from all hydraulic circuits before loosening or removing hydraulic components;
   7. (g) Safety props or latches installed, where applicable;
   8. (h) Other precautions as specified by the manufacturer; and
   9. (i) Make sure replacement parts or components are identical or equivalent to the original parts or components.
