Wash. Admin. Code § 296-56-60123 – Guarding of edges

(1) Employers must meet the following requirements for vehicle protection:
1. (a) Vehicle curbs, bull rails, or other effective barriers at least six inches (15.24 cm) in height and six inches in width, must be provided at the waterside edges of aprons and bulkheads, except where vehicles are prohibited. Curbs or bull rails installed after January 1, 1985, must be at least 10 inches (22.9 cm) in height.
2. (b) The provisions of (a) of this subsection also apply at the edge of any fixed level above the common floor area from which vehicles may fall, except at loading docks, platforms and skids where cargo is moved by vehicles.
(2) The employer must ensure all employees are protected in accordance with the requirements in chapter 296-880 WAC, Unified safety standards for fall protection.
