Requirement to deliver consumer's guide

(1) A supplemental long-term care insurance consumer's guide in the format developed or approved by the commissioner, must be provided to all prospective applicants of a supplemental long-term care insurance policy or certificate.
- (a) In the case of solicitations by an insurance producer, the insurance producer must deliver the consumer's guide prior to the presentation of an application or enrollment form.
- (b) In the case of direct response solicitations, the consumer's guide must be presented in conjunction with any application or enrollment form.
- (2) Issuers or insurance producers of life insurance policies or riders containing accelerated supplemental long-term care benefits are not required to furnish the consumer's guide, but must furnish the policy summary required by RCW 48.212.080(2).
