1. (1) A hospice care center applicant or licensee must provide a clean utility room with no direct connection to soiled utility services, including:

   1. (a) Sufficient clean storage and handling area(s);
   2. (b) Closed storage for clean and sterile supplies and equipment;
   3. (c) A work surface;
   4. (d) A handwash sink;
   5. (e) Soap and towel dispenser; and
   6. (f) A self-closing door.

2. (2) The hospice care center must provide a soiled utility room on each floor of the center with no direct connection to clean utility services, including:

   1. (a) A clinic service sink, siphon jet or equivalent with bedpan flushing attachment unless bedpan flushing devices are furnished in all patient toilets;
   2. (b) A counter top, two-compartment sink, and gooseneck spout or equivalent;
   3. (c) Storage for cleaning supplies and equipment;
   4. (d) Soap and towel dispenser;
   5. (e) Locked storage for chemicals; and
   6. (f) A self-closing door.
