1. (1) The department may require the registrant to adopt a written X-ray system radiation safety procedure if there is reason to believe the registrant needs increased attention because of:

   1. (a) Inadequate operator training;
   2. (b) Extremely high workload;
   3. (c) Increased risk of exposure due to staff supporting patients during radiography;
   4. (d) Increased risk of exposure to scattered radiation;
   5. (e) Unnecessarily high patient exposure values; or
   6. (f) Other similar conditions.

2. (2) The X-ray system radiation safety procedures must:

   1. (a) Address patient and occupationally exposed personnel safety; and
   2. (b) Define any restrictions of the operating technique required for safe operation of the X-ray system.
