Wash. Admin. Code § 182-550-2500 – Inpatient hospice services

(1) The medicaid agency pays hospice agencies participating in the Washington apple health program for general inpatient and inpatient respite services provided to clients in hospice care, when:
1. (a) The hospice agency coordinates the provision of the inpatient services; and
2. (b) The services are related to the medical condition for which the client sought hospice care.
(2) Hospice agencies must bill the agency for their services using revenue codes. The agency pays hospice providers a set per diem fee according to the type of care provided to the client on a daily basis.
(3) The agency pays hospital providers directly according to this chapter for inpatient care provided to clients in the hospice program for medical conditions not related to their terminal illness.
