1. (1) Caregivers must:

   1. (a) Submit applications for kinship license renewals prior to the expiration date on the current license; and

   2. (b) Collaborate with their licensor to complete the license renewal process which includes, but is not limited to:

      1. (i) Providing the required renewal documents;
      2. (ii) Completing background checks for all household members, per chapter 110-04 WAC; and

      3. (iii) Participating in:

         1. (A) A reassessment; and
         2. (B) An inspection of their home; and

         3. (C) Additional assessments, in rare circumstances when related to the safety and specific needs of the children or youth in care, including, but not limited to:

            1. (I) Mental health;
            2. (II) Substance abuse; and
            3. (III) Collaterals.

2. (2) The department may:

   1. (a) Send a renewal notice to licensed kinship caregivers 90 calendar days prior to the license expiration date; and
   2. (b) Close a kinship license if an application is not received by the expiration date.
