Certified kinship respite providers must:

1. (1) Be approved by the department to receive payment prior to providing respite care; and

2. (2) Complete the following when providing respite care in the:

   1. (a) Licensed kinship caregiver's home:

      1. (i) Application;
      2. (ii) A federal bureau of investigation fingerprint-based background check;
      3. (iii) At least one interview; and
      4. (iv) Infant safety agreement; or

   2. (b) Certified kinship respite provider's home. In addition to the requirements in this subsection, they must also complete:

      1. (i) A walkthrough of their home with a licensor; and
      2. (ii) Background checks for household members, as outlined in chapter 110-04 WAC.
