RCW 74.42.040 — Resident's rights regarding medical condition, care, and treatment.

The facility shall insure that each resident and guardian, if any:

1. (1) Is fully informed by a physician about his or her health and medical condition unless the physician decides that informing the resident is medically contraindicated and the physician documents this decision in the resident's record;
2. (2) Has the opportunity to participate in his or her total care and treatment;
3. (3) Has the opportunity to refuse treatment; and
4. (4) Gives informed, written consent before participating in experimental research.
