RCW 71.24.645 — Standards for certification or licensure of crisis stabilization units.

The secretary shall license or certify crisis stabilization units that meet state minimum standards. The standards for certification or licensure of crisis stabilization units by the department must include standards that:

1. (1) Permit location of the units at a jail facility if the unit is physically separate from the general population of the jail;
2. (2) Require administration of the unit by mental health professionals who direct the stabilization and rehabilitation efforts; and
3. (3) Provide an environment affording security appropriate with the alleged criminal behavior and necessary to protect the public safety.
