1. 1. Be of good character and reputation;
2. 2. Be physically and mentally capable of carrying out assigned responsibilities;
3. 3. Be courteous, respectful, patient, and affectionate toward the children in care;

4. 4. Be able to speak, read, and write in English as necessary to:

   1. a. Carry out assigned job responsibilities, and
   2. b. Communicate effectively with emergency responders; and
5. 5. Meet the requirements specified in 8VAC20-770, Background Checks for Child Day Programs and Family Day Systems.
