Utah Code Ann. § 63L-9-103

Director.

Effective May 12, 2020Amended by Chapter 352, 2020 General Session
  1. (1) Upon the requirements described in Subsection 63L-9-102(2) being fulfilled, the governor shall, with the advice and consent of the Senate, appoint a director of the Department of Land Management.
  2. (2) The director shall:

    1. (a) be the executive and administrative head of the Department of Land Management;
    2. (b) have demonstrated ability and experience in the administration and management of state or federal lands;
    3. (c) not hold any other public office or be involved in a political party or organization; and
    4. (d) hire personnel to staff the department.
  3. (3) The director shall have:

    1. (a) executive authority and control of the Department of Land Management; and
    2. (b) authority over all personnel matters.
