As used in this chapter:

1. (1) "Asset" means property of all kinds, real and personal, tangible and intangible, and includes:

   1. (a) cash;
   2. (b) stock or other investments;
   3. (c) real property;
   4. (d) equipment and supplies;
   5. (e) an ownership interest;
   6. (f) a license;
   7. (g) a cause of action; and
   8. (h) any similar property.
2. (2) "Charter school authorizer" or "authorizer" means an entity listed in Section 53G-5-205 that authorizes a charter school.

3. (3) "Institution of higher education board of trustees" or "board of trustees" means:

   1. (a) the board of trustees of:

      1. (i) the University of Utah;
      2. (ii) Utah State University;
      3. (iii) Weber State University;
      4. (iv) Southern Utah University;
      5. (v) Snow College;
      6. (vi) Utah Tech University;
      7. (vii) Utah Valley University; or
      8. (viii) Salt Lake Community College;
   2. (b) a technical college board of trustees described in Section 53H-3-205; or
   3. (c) a board of trustees of a private, nonprofit college or university in the state that is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
