For a proceeding involving an offense committed by a minor as defined in Section 80-1-102, a public prosecutor shall:

1. (1) review cases in accordance with Title 80, Chapter 6, Juvenile Justice; and
2. (2) appear and prosecute for the state in the juvenile court of the county.
