1. (1) All applicants seeking to attend a training program must submit an application packet to the division in accordance with R728-403.

2. (2) The division shall pay the costs of an agency-sponsored applicant to attend the training program offered at POST.

   1. (a) The agency-sponsored applicant's employer must verify the applicant is a full-time employee of a governmental entity who will be functioning as a peace officer.

3. (3) Self-sponsored applicants shall be responsible for paying all costs associated with the training program.

   1. (a) Self-sponsored applicants may only attend a training program offered at POST if special circumstances exist and approval has been granted by the director.
