1. (1) The committee shall review timely applications from law enforcement agencies to determine:

   1. (a) the agency does not currently have:

      1. (i) an early intervention system in place; or
      2. (ii) an early intervention system in place that meets the requirements under Sections 53-14-202 and 53-14-203; and
   2. (b) the system the agency seeks to establish meets the minimum standards under Section R714-562-11.

2. (2) The committee shall approve funding awards to law enforcement agencies that have submitted completed applications to establish an early intervention system:

   1. (a) that meet the requirements of this rule; and
   2. (b) in amounts established under Section R714-562-9.

3. (3) The department shall notify each law enforcement agency that applied for grant funding of:

   1. (a) the approval or denial of the application for funding; and
   2. (b) the amount of funding that will be made available to the law enforcement agency.
