1. (1) When inspecting the fuel system of a vehicle, the inspector shall:

   1. (a) check the fuel system for any leaks and ensure it is secure;
   2. (b) check to ensure the gas tank meets OEM specifications;
   3. (c) check to ensure the gas tank is properly capped; and

   4. (d) issue a rejection inspection certificate when:

      1. (i) any part of the fuel system is not securely fastened;
      2. (ii) there is leakage at any point in the fuel system; or
      3. (iii) the gas tank is not properly capped or does not meet OEM specifications.
