1. (1) review timely applications submitted to the department to determine that;

   1. (a) the applicant is eligible to receive grant funding in accordance with Section 53-17a-101; and
   2. (b) the educational-related expenses outlined in supporting documentation submitted with the application are eligible to receive scholarship funding;
2. (2) approve funding awards for qualified applicants; and

3. (3) notify each applicant:

   1. (a) of the approval or denial of the application for scholarship funding;
   2. (b) of the amount of scholarship funding that will be made available to the applicant for education-related expenses; and
   3. (c) that funds provided may be subject to funding availability or be reduced in accordance with Subsection 53-17a-101(6).
