1. (1) The following species of fish are classified as prohibited and may not be taken or held in possession:

   1. (a) Bonytail (Gila elegans);
   2. (b) Colorado pikeminnow (Ptychocheilus lucius);
   3. (c) Humpback chub (Gila cypha);
   4. (d) June sucker (Chasmistes liorus);
   5. (e) Razorback sucker (Xyrauchen texanus);
   6. (f) Virgin River chub (Gila seminuda);
   7. (g) Woundfin (Plagopterus argentissimus).
2. (2) Any of these species caught while attempting to take other legal species shall be immediately released.

3. (3) The following species of fish are classified as prohibited and may be held in possession provided the specimen is killed immediately:

   1. (a) Alewife (Alosa pseudoharengus);
   2. (b) Asian swamp eel (Monopterus albus);
   3. (c) Bighead carp (Hypophthalmichthys nobilis);
   4. (d) Black carp (Mylopharyngodon piceus);
   5. (e) Bowfin (Amia calva);
   6. (f) Brook stickleback (Culaea inconstans);
   7. (g) Eurasian ruffe (Gymnocephalus cernuus);

   8. (h) Flathead catfish (Pylodictis olivaris);

      1. (i) Gar (Family Lepisosteidae);
   9. (j) Grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella);

   10. (k) Ide (Leuciscus idus);

       1. (l) Piranhas (all species);
   11. (m) Nile perch (Lates niloticus);
   12. (n) Northern snakehead (Channa argus);
   13. (o) Red bellied pacu (Piaractus brachypomus);
   14. (p) Red shiner (Cyprinella lutrensis);
   15. (q) Round goby (Neogobius melanostomus);
   16. (r) Rudd (Scardinius erythrophthalmus);
   17. (s) Sand shiner (Notropis stramineus);
   18. (t) Sea lamprey (Petromyzon marinus);

   19. (u) Silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix);

       1. (v) South American parasitic catfish (Family Cetopsidae and Family Trichomycteridae);

   20. (w) Tiger fish (Hydrocynus vittatus);

       1. (x) Tench (Tinca tinca);
   21. (y) Tilapia (Genus Coelotilapia, Genus Coptodon, Genus Heterotilapia, Genus Oreochromis, and Genus Sarotherodon);
   22. (z) Walking catfish (Clarias batrachus); and
4. (4) Any of these species caught while attempting to take other legal species may not be released alive.
