1. (1) The division shall assign numbers to vessels as required by law.

2. (2) A vessel number assigned by the division shall consist of:

   1. (a) the prefix letters "UT" to designate the State of Utah;
   2. (b) one to four numerals; and
   3. (c) two suffix letters that may designate a certain type of vessel.

3. (2) The suffix letters that designate a certain type of vessel are:

   1. (a) AB, for an airboat;
   2. (b) DL, for a marine dealer or manufacturer; and
   3. (c) EX, for exempt vessels used only for official government business.
4. (3) The division shall randomly assign all suffixes other than those set out in Subsection (2).
