1. (1) The purpose of this rule is to provide for prompt dissemination of loss information between an insurer and an insured.

2. (2) This rule applies to an insurer licensed in this state to do the following business:

   1. (a) property and casualty;
   2. (b) commercial property and commercial liability;
   3. (c) workers' compensation; or
   4. (d) surplus lines.
3. (3) This rule does not apply to disability insurance.
