(1) Each local area agency shall develop and follow written procedures for the recruitment, training, and oversight of each volunteer. The office shall:
- (a) ensure each procedure is consistent with the ombudsman program's training and certification requirements; and
- (b) approve each procedure.
- (2) The office shall provide technical assistance to each local ombudsman entity in developing and maintaining a volunteer program.
- (3) Each volunteer shall meet certification requirements described in Section R500-3-9.
(4) Each volunteer who has met certification requirements shall:
- (a) work under the direct supervision of a local ombudsman entity's staff member;
- (b) be qualified to perform ombudsman responsibilities, including provision of the ombudsman program's components; and
- (c) provide appropriate documentation to the local ombudsman entity of each activity completed on behalf of the ombudsman program.
