- (1) The department shall have access to the medical records of a newborn to identify the health care provider or any reason an appropriate specimen was not collected or to collect missing demographic information.
- (2) The institution shall enter the newborn screening form number, also known as the Birth Record Number, into the Vital Records database and the Newborn Hearing Screening database.
