- (1) prior experience living, working, or both in a rural community;
- (2) board certification or eligibility;
- (3) the applicant obtaining a contract with an approved rural hospital that will match the loan funds;
- (4) status as a United States Citizen or legal resident; and
- (5) application submitted within 18 months of beginning professional practice in a rural community.
