1. (1) Flammable anesthetic agents or chemicals may not be used unless the building is properly constructed for its use.

2. (2) For gas usage in a facility, the licensee shall ensure:

   1. (a) compressed gasses and flammable liquids are stored safely and any compressed gas cylinders in storage are capped and secured;
   2. (b) oxidizing agents may not be stored with flammables;
   3. (c) oxygen and flammable agents are stored away from combustibles;
   4. (d) liquid flammable agents are stored in metal cabinets with no more than ten gallons of any one flammable liquid or 60 gallons total of flammable liquids stored per cabinet;
   5. (e) warning signs are posted when compressed gasses or flammable liquids are used;
   6. (f) equipment is available to extinguish liquid oxygen and enriched gasses; and
   7. (g) employees are trained in the proper use of equipment and containment of combustions.

3. (3) When using oxygen, the licensee shall ensure provision is made for the following:

   1. (a) safe handling and storage; and
   2. (b) facility personnel may not transfer gas from one cylinder to another.

4. (4) The licensee shall test the piped oxygen system and file a written report as follows:

   1. (a) upon completion of initial installation;
   2. (b) when changes are made to the system;
   3. (c) when the integrity of the system has been breached; and
   4. (d) ensure there is a scavenging system for evacuation of anesthetic waste gas.
