1. (1) This rule is authorized by Section 26B-2-202.

2. (2) The purpose of this rule is to promote the health and welfare of individuals receiving services by establishing design and construction requirements for the following types of health care facilities:

   1. (a) abortion clinics;
   2. (b) birthing centers;
   3. (c) critical access hospitals;
   4. (d) end stage renal disease facilities;
   5. (e) freestanding ambulatory surgical centers;
   6. (f) general hospitals;
   7. (g) inpatient hospitals;

   8. (h) nursing care facilities;

      1. (i) rural emergency hospitals.
   9. (j) small health care facilities; and
   10. (k) specialty hospitals.
