1. (1) In accordance with Section 58-76-302, the education requirements for graduates of an approved geoscience program are as follows:

   1. (a) an earned bachelor's or master's degree in geology from an accredited institution; or

   2. (b) an earned bachelor's or post-graduate degree in the geosciences from an accredited institution including the completion of a minimum of 24 semester or 36 quarter hours in upper level or graduate geology courses that include one or more of the following subject areas:

      1. (i) structural geology;
      2. (ii) geophysics;

      3. (iii)(A) sedimentology;

         1. (B) stratigraphy; or
         2. (C) paleontology;

      4. (iv)(A) mineralogy;

         1. (B) petrology; or
         2. (C) geochemistry;

      5. (v)(A) engineering geology; or

         1. (B) environmental geology;

      6. (vi)(A) hydrogeology; or

         1. (B) hydrology;

      7. (vii)(A) geomorphology; or

         1. (B) remote sensing;

      8. (viii)(A) economic geology; or

         1. (B) petroleum geology; or
      9. (ix) field geology.
2. (2) In accordance with Section 58-1-302, an applicant who has been educated in a foreign country shall submit a course-by-course accreditation evaluation completed by FCSA to determine program equivalency.
