2. (2) personal, client, and salon safety, including:

   1. (a) aseptic techniques and sanitary procedures;
   2. (b) disinfection and sterilization methods and procedures; and
   3. (c) health risks to the hair designer;

3. (3) business and salon management including:

   1. (a) developing clientele;
   2. (b) professional image;
   3. (c) professional ethics;
   4. (d) professional associations;
   5. (e) public relations; and
   6. (f) advertising;

4. (4) legal issues, including:

   1. (a) malpractice liability;
   2. (b) regulatory agencies; and
   3. (c) tax laws;
5. (5) human immune system;

6. (6) diseases and disorders of hair and scalp, including:

   1. (a) bacteriology;
   2. (b) sanitation;
   3. (c) sterilization;
   4. (d) decontamination; and

   1. (a) high-frequency current; and
   2. (b) heat lamps;

11. (11) analysis of the hair and scalp;
12. (12) physiology of the human body;
13. (13) electricity and light therapy;
14. (14) chemical reactions;
15. (15) chemistry for hair design;
16. (16) properties of the hair and scalp;

17. (17) basic hairstyling including:

    1. (a) wet and thermal styling;
    2. (b) permanent waving;
    3. (c) hair coloring;
    4. (d) chemical hair relaxing; and
    5. (e) thermal hair straightening;

18. (18) haircuts, including:

    1. (a) draping;
    2. (b) clipper variations;
    3. (c) scissor cutting;
    4. (d) shaving; and
    5. (e) wigs and artificial hair;
19. (19) razor cutting;
20. (20) mustache and beard design;
21. (21) cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR);
22. (22) elective topics; and
23. (23) Hair Designer Examination review.

Under Subsection 58-11a-302(16)(c)(iv), the curriculum for a hair design school shall consist of 1,200 hours of instruction in the following subject areas:
