1. (1) introduction consisting of:

   1. (a) history of nail technology; and
   2. (b) an overview of the curriculum;

2. (2) personal, client, and salon safety including:

   1. (a) aseptic techniques and sanitary procedures;
   2. (b) disinfection and sterilization methods and procedures; and
   3. (c) health risks to the nail technician;

3. (3) business and salon management including:

   1. (a) developing clientele;
   2. (b) professional image;
   3. (c) professional ethics;
   4. (d) professional associations;
   5. (e) public relations; and
   6. (f) advertising;

4. (4) legal issues including:

   1. (a) malpractice liability;
   2. (b) regulatory agencies; and
   3. (c) tax laws;
5. (5) human immune system;

6. (6) diseases and disorders of the nails and skin including:

   1. (a) bacteriology;
   2. (b) sanitation;
   3. (c) sterilization;
   4. (d) decontamination; and
   5. (e) infection control;
7. (7) implements, tools, and equipment for nail technology;
8. (8) first aid;
9. (9) anatomy;
10. (10) science for nail technology;
11. (11) theory of basic manicuring including hand and arm massage;
12. (12) physiology of the skin and nails;
13. (13) chemistry for nail technology;

14. (14) artificial nail techniques consisting of:

    1. (a) wraps;
    2. (b) nail tips;
    3. (c) gel nails;
    4. (d) sculptured and other acrylic nails; and
    5. (e) nail art;
15. (15) pedicures and massaging the lower leg and foot;
16. (16) elective topics; and
17. (17) Nail Technology Examination review.

Under Subsection 58-11a-302(19)(c)(iv), the curriculum for a nail technology school shall consist of 300 hours of instruction in the following subject areas:
