1. (1) Under Section 58-1-305, the following licenses issued under Title 58, Occupations and Professions that are active in good standing may be placed on inactive licensure status:

   1. (a) advanced practice registered nurse (APRN);
   2. (b) anesthesiologist assistant;
   3. (c) architect;
   4. (d) audiologist;
   5. (e) certified public accountant emeritus;
   6. (f) certified prescribing psychologist;
   7. (g) certified nurse midwife;

   8. (h) state certified court reporter;

      1. (i) certified social worker;
   9. (j) chiropractic physician;

   10. (k) clinical mental health counselor;

       1. (l) clinical social worker;
   11. (m) contractor;
   12. (n) deception detection examiner;
   13. (o) deception detection intern;
   14. (p) dental hygienist;
   15. (q) dentist;
   16. (r) dispensing medical practitioner - advanced practice registered nurse;
   17. (s) dispensing medical practitioner - physician and surgeon;
   18. (t) dispensing medical practitioner - physician assistant;

   19. (u) dispensing medical practitioner - osteopathic physician and surgeon;

       1. (v) dispensing medical practitioner - optometrist;

   20. (w) dispensing medical practitioner - clinic pharmacy;

       1. (x) genetic counselor;
   21. (y) health facility administrator;
   22. (z) hearing instrument specialist;
   23. (aa) landscape architect;
   24. (bb) licensed advanced substance use disorder counselor;
   25. (cc) licensed physical therapist;
   26. (dd) marriage and family therapist;
   27. (ee) master addiction counselor;
   28. (ff) naturopath-naturopathic physician;
   29. (gg) optometrist;

   30. (hh) osteopathic physician and surgeon;

       1. (ii) pharmacist;
   31. (jj) pharmacy technician;

   32. (kk) physician assistant;

       1. (ll) physician and surgeon;
   33. (mm) podiatric physician;
   34. (nn) private probation provider;
   35. (oo) professional engineer;
   36. (pp) professional land surveyor;
   37. (qq) professional structural engineer;
   38. (rr) psychologist;
   39. (ss) radiology practical technician;
   40. (tt) school psychological practitioner;

   41. (uu) radiologic technologist;

       1. (vv) security personnel;

   42. (ww) speech-language pathologist;

       1. (xx) substance use disorder counselor;
   43. (yy) veterinarian; and
   44. (zz) state certified veterinary technician.

2. (2)(a) A licensee requesting inactive licensure shall submit a verified application in a form prescribed by the Division together with:

   1. (i) documentation that the applicant meets the requirements for inactive licensure; and

      1. (ii) the appropriate fee.
   2. (b) If the licensee meets the requirements for inactive licensure, the Division shall place the license on inactive status.
3. (3) A license may remain on inactive status indefinitely except as otherwise provided in Title 58, Occupations or Professions or Title R156.

4. (4) An inactive licensee may activate their license by submitting a verified application for activation in a form prescribed by the Division together with:

   1. (a) the appropriate fee; and
   2. (b) except as otherwise provided in Title 58, Occupations and Professions or Title R156, documentation that the inactive licensee meets current renewal requirements.
5. (5) An inactive licensee whose license is activated during the last 12 months of a renewal cycle shall, upon payment of the appropriate fees, be licensed for a full renewal cycle plus the period remaining until the impending renewal date, rather than being required to immediately renew their activated license.
6. (6) A Controlled Substance license may be placed on inactive status if it is attached to a primary license placed on inactive status.
