The following words and terms, when used in this subchapter, shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.

1. (1) Act--The Transportation Corporation Act, Transportation Code, Chapter 431.
2. (2) Board--The Board of Directors of a corporation.
3. (3) Commission--The Texas Transportation Commission.
4. (4) Corporation--A transportation corporation created under this subchapter.
5. (5) Department--The Texas Department of Transportation.
6. (6) Director--A director of a corporation's Board.
7. (7) Executive director--The executive director of the Texas Department of Transportation or the executive director's designee.
8. (8) Transportation project--The planning, construction, or reconstruction of a transportation facility which the department has the legal authority to plan, construct, or reconstruct, including but not limited to, a public road or highway, bridge, ferry, transit facility, or high occupancy vehicle lane.
