The following words and terms, when used in this subchapter, shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.

1. (1) Comptroller--The Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts of the State of Texas, and any division or entity within the Office of the Comptroller or managed by the comptroller.
2. (2) Financial advisor or service provider--Includes a person or business entity who acts as a financial advisor, financial consultant, money manager, investment manager, or broker.
