The following words and terms, when used in this subchapter, shall have the following meanings, except where the context clearly indicates otherwise.

1. (1) Department--The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department or a specifically authorized employee of the department.
2. (2) Officer--A commissioned, licensed peace officer of the state of Texas who seizes contraband under the authority of the Parks and Wildlife Code.
