The following words and terms, when used in this subchapter, shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.

1. (1) Doing business in Texas as a risk retention group or purchasing group--

   1. (A) operating in, soliciting members in, having members in, or having an office in, Texas; and
   2. (B) claiming to be, representing itself to be, or operating as, a risk retention group or purchasing group.
2. (2) Purchasing group--The meaning given by the Insurance Code, Article 21.54.
3. (3) Risk retention group--The meaning given by the Insurance Code, Article 21.54.
