1. (a) The nursing facility must designate a physician to serve as medical director.

2. (b) The medical director is responsible for:

   1. (1) implementation of resident care policies (see §19.1922 of this title (relating to Resident Care Policies)); and
   2. (2) the coordination of medical care in the facility.
