Bone Densitometry Exemption

Bone densitometry using x-radiation may be performed by:

(1) a practitioner;
(2) a registered nurse or physician assistant;
(3) a certificate holder; or
(4) a certified densitometry technologist who meets the following:
1. (A) in good standing with the International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD);
2. (B) has successfully completed the ARRT bone density exam; or
3. (C) has at least 20 hours of documented training as follows:
  1. (i) 16 hours using bone densitometry equipment utilized x-radiation; and
  2. (ii) 4 hours of radiation safety and protection training.
