A Medical Director or Chief Medical Officer must:

1. (1) register with the board on an approved form and provide all required documentation requested;

2. (2) review, approve, and sign protocols, standing delegation orders, or guidelines for emergency medical service (EMS) providers regarding:

   1. (A) prehospital care, to be provided by EMS personnel;
   2. (B) patient transport standards (voluntary and involuntary);
   3. (C) criteria for selection of a patient's destination; and
   4. (D) standard of care to be provided, patient care incidents, patient complaints, and deviations from established protocols, standing orders, and/or guidelines.
3. (3) developing, implementing, and revising protocols standing delegation orders and/or guidelines, as appropriate; and
4. (4) monitor compliance with protocols standing orders and/or guidelines by EMS providers.
