1. (a) LHR Technician Certification Requirements. An applicant for an LHR technician certification must meet the following requirements:

   1. (1) hold a current LHR apprentice-in-training certification in accordance with this chapter; and
   2. (2) have performed at least 100 LHR procedures under the direct supervision of a senior LHR technician or an LHR professional in the 12 months prior to the application submission date.
2. (b) Supervisor requirements. A physician or other licensed health professional must not perform the direct supervision activities of an LHR professional or senior LHR technician in accordance with this section unless that individual meets the requirements of §118.28 and §118.29.
