An inspection station or inspector, on completion of an inspection, shall electronically submit to the department's inspection database:

1. (1) the vehicle identification number of the inspected vehicle and an indication of whether the vehicle passed the inspections required by this chapter; and
2. (2) any additional information required by rule by the department for the type of vehicle inspected.
