The district is composed of the territory in the city of Ranger on May 26, 1949, and the territory in the city of Eastland that was added to the district before June 8, 1953. The district's territory may have been modified under:

1. (1) this subchapter or its predecessor statute, Section 5, Chapter 465, Acts of the 51st Legislature, Regular Session, 1949;
2. (2) Subchapter J, Chapter 49, Water Code; or
3. (3) other law.
