1. (a) The district shall provide for the establishment of a hospital system by:

   1. (1) purchasing, constructing, acquiring, repairing, or renovating buildings and equipment;
   2. (2) equipping the buildings; and
   3. (3) administering buildings and equipment for hospital purposes.

2. (b) The hospital system may include:

   1. (1) facilities for domiciliary care of the sick, injured, or geriatric;
   2. (2) facilities for outpatient clinics;
   3. (3) physicians' offices;
   4. (4) dispensaries;
   5. (5) convalescent home facilities;
   6. (6) necessary nurses' domiciliaries and training centers;
   7. (7) blood banks;
   8. (8) research centers or laboratories; and
   9. (9) any other facilities the board considers necessary for hospital care.
